Cold morning

Watched the geese and ducks mooching about on the flooded watermeadow. Cold, this morning, a full moon just setting through the bare trees.
Their bums and feet must be frozen.

A duck started swimming across, quacking all the way. Think he’d spotted a squaw and was giving it a bit of “Fancy a quickie, darlin’ ”.
Looks like the resident drake came out and soon saw him off. There was a bit of posturing, a lot of “Come on then, if you’re hard enough.” And then the intruder sort of backed off with “I was only asking.”

Meanwhile, the geese decided it was time to move on.
Lots of flapping and “wait for me” and “Where are we going?” and then they were off.
All except one who clearly stayed behind to get a little me-time.
