This is from a posting on YouTube, by “New Newspaper Today”, titled “Italy now! A snowstorm with terrible winds buried cars and houses disappeared in the Aosta valley”.

It seems somewhat strange that road signs in an Italian location are in English. How very cosmopolitan the Italians are.

And how unfortunate for these tourists who, having brought their car all the way from California, got caught in this blizzard.

I did not know that Italian street signs looked so like American ones, or that “Maple Lane” even existed in Aosta.

And how thoughtful to have the warning signs on this rescue vehicle in English, although a little difficult for any ill-educated Italian drivers.

How nice to think that amid all this chaos, an Italian thinks to fly an American flag in gesture of solidarity.
Now, I have no objection to fake news. After all, who can seriously believe the effing about of the clowns that purport to be in charge on this planet? It must be fake news all the way. CNN, BBC, ITN, you couldn’t really think that it is anything other than faked.
Certainly, the emotional tremblings in the voices of commentators and reporters is clearly fake, either as recorded or inserted in post editing.
But, at least they try for a little more authenticity.
Now, I am not a cynic.
It is impossible for one to be cynical about another’s actions.
One can only be sceptical about the motives of another.
And, it is your duty to be sceptical.
It is your duty to ask, ”Is what I am seeing, reading or hearing real? How do I know it’s real? Who benefits, and in what way, from conning me into thinking this is real?”
Don’t wait for someone else to “fact check” anything. Look inside your own head, your own life and your own feelings. You’ll probably find better and quicker answers there.
