• Here is a representation of an ATC radar plot. The icons represent aircraft in flight, each with an identification code attached. The position of each aircraft is represented by its coordinates on the plot and additional entries for course, altitude, speed, heading, rate of climb, etc. can be added.

This information can be represented on a spreadsheet:

• As each aircraft moves, the position of its icon on the plot changes, and the entries on the spreadsheet change to give a representation of the new situation.
• This enables the controller to understand the complex situation of the reality outside the control tower.

• Now take a mind flip. Suppose that changing the entries in the spreadsheet will move the aircraft outside accordingly. This will come as a surprise to the pilots. But this is the situation with drone aircraft in principle.
• There is a possibility that this is the situation in The Universe. That the reality is an admittedly rather large spreadsheet and our “observed reality” is an interpretation of that.
• For the “spreadsheet” model, there is no necessity for a continuous locus for the “aircraft”. The coordinates can simply be change to any new value without any intermediate values.
• Clearly, this has rarely, if ever, been observed on the macro level of our reality. If a planet were to materialise in the Earth’s core, — we wouldn’t know much about it anyway.
• But, on the level of individual points, considering that the universe contains a very high percentage of empty space, it might not be a problem. Even if a  fundamental particle, somewhat larger than a point, occurred inside a solid object, there is a high probability that it would not coincide with any occupied space.
• The radar beam has a timed sweep interval, and provided the status at the next sweep is within certain parameters, there would be no problem from any “irregular” intervening activity.
• Since there is a limit to the radar’s zone of detection, every aircraft must enter the plot as a new icon between sweeps, only causing consternation if it cannot be accounted for. This rationalisation can only take place after the new aircraft appears. Just to clarify, even if ATC have been advised of the anticipated arrival of a new aircraft, that information can only be assigned to a new plot after it appears and confirming correspondence has been established.
• The creation or appearance of a new point, a new entry on the Universe’s spreadsheet, need not cause any difficulties , provided it obeys The Rules of the Railway, the Universe’s comprehensive upgrade of ATC Regulations.
• It poses the possibility that the Universe is a rather large, admittedly, equation of state in which each term represents the status of a possible point in the universe. That this is a daunting prospect for our tiny brains does not affect this. It is likely, and would be very convenient, if the right hand side of this equation was a reassuring zero. This would make sense if the universe was created in a Big Bang from a nothing. It would be nice if it was 42.
• Whether it is the only equation in the set remains to be seen. In that case, it is possible that such equations are “nested” in a larger equation, in which case the right hand side of our local equation may vary to balance the super equation.
